Abstract
At present Salici-Populetum and Fraxino pannonicae-Ulmetum are most sp read forest communities in the inundation area of the Morava river. Pr evalence of Salix x rubens and a higher number of hygrophilous species are typical of willow-poplar forests, while ash-elm forests are chara cterized by the dominant species Fraxinus angustifolia subsp. danubial is and a higher number of mesophilous species and spring geophytes. Th e spread of forests and their species composition are strongly influen ced by human activities - such as cutting trees, allochthonous tree in troduction, preferring of certain autochthonous tree species, and crea ting suitable conditions for invasion of neophytes.
