Abstract
Several authors suggest that the Palearctic Laccophilus minutus (Linne aus 1758) and the Nearctic L. biguttatus Kirby 1837 are synonymous. Ou r investigation confirmed the opinion of other authors that they refer to separate species. However, L. biguttatus is Holarctic and L. stroh mi Thomson 1874 (Halsingland, Sweden) and L. apicicornis Reitter 1899 (northern Mongolia) are junior subjective synonyms (NEW SYNONYMIES). A vailable specimen data suggest that L. biguttatus has two centers of a bundance: western North America and Mongolia + adjacent Russia.
