Ev. Polyakov et al., SORPTION OF GENUINE RADIOCOLLOIDAL TRACER SPECIES - ANALYSIS OF LOG(EPSILON)OVER-BAR-PH ISOTHERMS IN AN AQUEOUS-ACID MODEL, Radiochemistry, 36(1), 1994, pp. 30-34
Formation by a tracer of genuine radiocolloidal species is signified b
y the appearance in a log epsilon-pH isotherm of a narrow maximum with
a horizontal right branch after a jump in the sorption for a cation e
xchanger in the H-form. The position of the pH(f)jump depends, in part
icular, on the analytical tracer concentration in the starting solutio
n. The size of the jump is determined only by the fraction of colloida
l particles in the equilibrium sorbate. This last condition enables th
e characteristic features of the colloid to be used as a basis for dev
eloping radioanalytical methods for determining trace quantities of a
compound in solution.
