Abstract
The criterion for which a tracer (TR) manifests colloidal properties i s obtained within the framework of the aqueous-acid model of TR sorpti on. A break accompanied by a jump in the sorption owing to a phase tra nsition of the TR colloidal species into ionic ones arises on the sorp tion isotherm when the sorbent mass or sorbate volume are changed.
