Abstract
The radiation characteristics of an aperture-coupled hemispherical die lectric resonator (DR) antenna excited at the broadside TE111 mode is investigated both theoretically and experimentally. The Green's functi ons of the DR antenna are presented for the evaluation of fields in th e upper-half plane, and the stationary phase technique is used for the back-lobe radiation. The effect of the slot length on the radiation i s studied, and the cross-polarized fields of the antenna are discussed . (C) 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
