While relatively rare, the most common benign tumor of the spleen is t
he hemangioma. We report a case of a noncalcified splenic hemangioma f
ound incidentally on a technetium-99m methylene diphosphonate (Tc-99m
MDP) bone scan. Tc-99m MDP may have been accumulated by iron, which wa
s deposited extensively within the hemangioma.
