Abstract
Several aspects of paper machine control are still to be improved from the point of view of automatic grade change, fluorescence control, an d dye retention tracking. Two control algorithms are proposed and comp ared. The first is based on a linearized model. The second is based on a non-linear prediction. Simulation results show the behavior of the system for large color changes. An adaptive version is added, in order to cope with the varying dye retentions.
