Abstract
Samples collected from feather and leather objects, their surroundings and deposited dusts from different museums were baited for the isolat ion of keratinophilic and non-keratinophilic fungi. During the study f ive species of Chrysosporium, four of Aspergillus, two of Penicillium and two each of Acremonium and Fusarium were isolated. This is the fir st report of the occurrence of keratinophilic Chrysosporium on museum objects in India.
