Measurements of the viscosity eta and the density rho are reported for
14 binary mixtures of methyl methacrylate (MMA) with hydrocarbons, ha
loalkanes, and alkylamines at 303.15 K. The viscosity data have been c
orrelated with equations of Grunberg and Nissan, of McAllister, and of
Auslaender. Furthermore, excess viscosity DELTA 1n eta and excess Gib
bs energy of activation DELTAGE of viscous flow have been calculated
and have been used to predict molecular interactions occuring in prese
nt binary mixtures. The results show the existence of specific interac
tions in MMA + aromatic hydrocarbons, MMA + haloalkanes, and MMA + pri
mary amines.
