SURFACE-CHEMISTRY OF SILVER-HALIDE MICROCRYSTALS

Experimental techniques to study the surface properties of silver hali de crystals in the mu m range, dispersed in gelatin, are discussed. Th e adsorption of sensitizing cyanine dyes and the properties of the ads orbed sensitizers on such silver-halide particles are studied by vario us surface techniques yielding complementary information necessary for a quantitative description of the spectral sensitization process.
