Abstract
This article reviews the past and present data regarding the evaluatio n and resuscitation of patients with concomitant pelvic fractures and hemodynamic instability. The emphasis is that successful treatment req uires a concerted and aggressive team approach from all disciplines. T imely care has proven to be the single most important factor in patien t survivorship. Recent advances such as emergency posterior frames wil l allow simultaneous evaluation and resuscitation. A treatment algorit hm is presented for emergency care.
