Abstract
This brief report describes the results of an investigation into the g rowth of CdSe(x)S1-x crystallites in a glass matrix. The effects of cr ystallite growth temperature upon the crystallite sizes and stoichiome try, as determined by photoluminescence and Raman spectroscopies, are discussed. A novel effect is reported whereby the sizes of the semicon ductor crystallites can be controlled by altering the initial doping l evel of the glass.
