A numerical method for calculating three-dimensional incompressible vi
scous flow in turbomachinery rotors is described. A finite-volume disc
retization for the conservation equations for mass and momentum and th
e equations of the k,epsilon-turbulence model is used to produce linea
rized systems of equations. The SIMPLE algorithm is adopted to calcula
te the pressure and to enforce mass conservation. The equation systems
are solved with the strongly implicit procedure. Results in the rotor
and the wake region of an axial compressor rotor are presented and co
mpared with measurements.
