The cobalt(II), nickel(II) and copper(II) complexes of the monomeric H
L1 and polymeric (HL2)n ligands of ethyl-1-phenyl-5-OxO-3-pyrozolin-4-
yl)-N'-acryloyl thiourea are described. The reactions of nickel(II) an
d Copper(II) acetate (1 mole) with HL1 (1 mole) produce 1:1 metal comp
lexes. Cobalt(II) acetate (1 mole reacts with HL1 (1 mole) to yield Co
(HL1)2(OOCMe)2. (H-2)n (1 mole) reacts with cobalt(II) and nikle(II) a
cetates (1 mole) to produce complexes in which each metal ion coordina
tes with two ligating groups, whereas with copper(H) acetate produce a
complex in which each copper ion coordinates with one ligating centre
. The monomeric ligand and each ligating group in the polymeric ligand
behaves as monobasic or neutral bidentate ligands. The complexes were
characterized by elemental analysis, conductance measurements, and 1R
., and electronic spectra as well as magnetic susceptibility measureme
nts and DTA analysis.
