The influence of static and synchronous magnetic fields on the magneto
chemical damping of a pure Ni sample was investigated to check the val
idity of Degaque's model of magnetomechanical damping. The experimenta
l dependences were fitted using four parameters which were common to b
oth dependences. It was revealed that Degaque's model describes these
dependences qualitatively very well. The values of the parameters were
found to be consistent with appropriate values of microscopic paramet
ers such as the magnetostriction and magnetization vector of Ni.
