Abstract
In order to optimize the viability of Scenedesmus subspicatus cells af ter cryopreservation, the influence of different factors - pre-culture conditions, cryoprotectant treatment and cooling rate were studied by means of a complete factorial design. Only 1 of the 8 tested combinat ions gave good recoveries in solid and liquid viability tests.
