P. Schonbach et D. Bergmann, RESPONSIBILITY - DETERMINATIONS OF THE CO NCEPT DEPENDING ON SEX CATEGORY AND NEED FOR CONTROL, Zeitschrift fur Sozialpsychologie, 25(3), 1994, pp. 192-207
This research confirms previous pilot studies on differences between m
eanings of responsibility among women and men. In addition, data are o
ffered on relationships between various needs for control and aspects
of responsibility. These data were partly unexpected, but they suggest
explanations why in comparisons of male and female groups, despite ex
tensive overlap, remarkable differences between their responsibility p
erspectives appear. The tacit assumption in many empirical studies of
clear and uniform concepts of responsibility among the respondents can
not be maintained.
