A quick visual method for evaluating blind node propensity was propose
d. The method was based on the proportion of blind nodes on one-year-o
ld shoots. The scores ranged from 1 as less than one third of the bran
ch having blind nodes, to 9 as greater than two thirds of the branch h
aving blind nodes. The correlation coefficient (r) of actual percentag
e of blind nodes was 0.84 indicating that this method will be usefull
