Abstract
The ever increasing volume of waste paper not reutilized for papermaki ng is causing concern as well as emotion, particularly in densely popu lated countries with high per capita paper consumption. This article d iscusses the driving forces affecting the utilization of recycled fibr es and the possible environmentally friendly treatment of that part of papermaking today and tomorrow.
