FIELD-INDUCED MAGNETISM IN URANIUM-COMPOUNDS - UGE3 AND URH3

The field-induced magnetism in UGe3 and URh3 has been studied by means of first-principles calculations. The calculated-induced moments on t he U and Rh sites agree well with experimental work on URh3. Also, the calculated field-induced magnetic form factor of URh3 compares favora bly with experiment. In the case of UGe3 the agreement between theory and experiment is less satisfactory. Even though the calculated induce d moment on the U site is rather close to measurement, the calculated Ge moment is substantially smaller than derived experimentally.
