Abstract
We present the observation of Josephson self-coupling in Nb/AlO(x)/Nb tunnel junctions. In current-voltage characteristics, anomalous subhar monic gap structures were observed; steep current steps and peaks whic h were sensitive to the magnetic field appeared at the voltages of 2DE LTA/3e and 2DELTA/5e. The characteristics of these structures could no t be explained by multiparticle tunneling and/or multiple Andreev refl ection. We conclude that the structures at 2DELTA/3e and 2DELTA/5e are due to Josephson self-coupling.
