Abstract
A potentiometric method for the estimation of xanthate using silver io ns has been devised. The method has been found to be accurate for xant hate concentrations in the range from 1600 to 10 mg/l. The presence of chloride, fluoride, phosphate, or sulphide ions has not been found to interfere in the estimation. The xanthate concentration found in a co pper ore- concentrate plant effluent by applying the proposed method a greed closely with that found by a spectrophotometric method.
