Abstract
[RU(PY)4Cl2] (where py = pyridine, C5H5N), crystallizes in the tetrago nal space group I4(1)/acd. Ru and Cl atoms occupy sites of 222 and 2 p oint symmetry, respectively. The Ru atom has slightly distorted octahe dral coordination. The Cl-Ru-Cl moiety is linear, as a result of symme try requirements.
