Abstract
The heterobimetallic complex [Y][Os(N)(CH2-SiMe3)2(mu-O)2CrO2], 1 (Y = [PPh4], [N(n-Bu)4]), reacts with Ph2PCH2CH2PPh2 (dppe) to form [Y][Os (N)(CH2-SiMe3)2(dppe)(OCrO3)], 2. The structure of 2 was determined by X-ray diffraction. Complex 1 is a catalyst for the oxidation of dppe to Ph2P(O)CH2CH2P(O)Ph2 with molecular oxygen.
