Abstract
Single-crystal X-ray analysis of the ionic complex [(C5Me5)Zr(CH2Ph)2] +[B(CH2Ph)(C6F5)3]- shows that no cation-anion bonding interactions ex ist, resulting in remarkable structural features in the highly electro philic ''naked'' cation, including an unprecedented eta7-benzyl coordi nation.
