Abstract
The first example is reported for the selective reaction of a diastere oisomeric mixture of bonyl(2-isobornoxy-5-methylcyclohexadienylium)iro n hexafluorophosphate with achiral potassium-dimethyl malonate to give the highly enantiomerically enriched diene complex 6 (84% ee). The tw o diastereoisomeric complexes 3 and 4 showed considerable differences in their H-1 NMR chemical shifts.
