Abstract
The C + SiC coatings have been produced on the graphite M272 by chemic al vapour deposition. The properties of the coatings, density, Si cont ent and its distribution, crystalline and microstructure have been mea sured. The thermal erosion simulation tests by an electron beam have s hown that the C + SiC coatings have good adherence and are resistant t o damage from thermal shock. The results of hydrogen ion sputtering in laboratory conditions are also discussed.
