A Monte Carlo simulation program is presented that enables one to find
the optimal position of the HPGe (high-purity germanium) detector and
to design various geometrical topologies for the shield and detector.
The program has been tested up to 2.8 MeV and been compared very well
with the experimental results [B. Lal and K.V.K. Iyenger, Nucl. Instr
um. Methods 79 (1970) 19].
