Abstract
Electronic equipment, especially computers, needs to be shielded from stray electromagnetic interference (EMI). Most equipment is contained in plastic housings, so is transparent to EMI. Plating on plastics off ers a method for economical and reliable EMI shielding. This review ex plains the plating process and compares the capabilities of shielding techniques. Theoretical principles of shielding theory are also discus sed.
