Abstract
Neonatal bladder injury is rare and usually associated with umbilical artery catheterization. Patients may present with apparent renal failu re, abdominal distension, and respiratory distress. Treatment involves operative closure of the perforation and bladder drainage. A case of Foley catheter-induced bladder rupture in a premature infant, not prev iously reported in the literature, is detailed. Copyright (C) 1994 by W.B. Saunders Company
