n experimental physicist and instrument designer, the founder of many
instruments-making techniques in Russia, and was the originator of the
theory of integration and variation by electric methods, pendulum ast
atisation theory, and of other original measurements methods. He was t
he designer of automatic control systems in the measuring apparatus fo
r nuclear tests ranges, automatic seismic stations series used for the
nuclear tests control, designer of the first native mirror-galvanomet
er oscillographs, high-speed cameras (moving-image camera, high-speed
time magnifiers and so on) and many other unique instruments, includin
g some mounted on moving objects.
