Abstract
The non-linear current-voltage characteristics of bismuth are studied at liquid helium temperatures. It is shown experimentally that with th e magnetic field vector along the binary axis, a nonstationary process develops in the sample after its transition to the non-linear conduct ivity state with the relaxation time tau(b). The characteristic time o f the process tau(x) is an order of magnitude higher than tau(b).
