K. Juza et al., CORRELATED LONG-TERM LIGHT, COLOR AND SPECTRAL VARIATIONS OF THE BE-STAR-KAPPA-DRA, Astronomy & Astrophysics. Supplement series, 107(2), 1994, pp. 403-411
Intensity of the Balmer emission lines of kappa Dra, documented by spe
ctral records from the past 100 years, was found to vary with a period
of 8406 d (23(y)01). Optical brightness and continuum polarimetry see
m to vary with the same period. Polarimetric changes are in phase with
the emission strength. The brightness of the object attains maximum d
uring the rise of emission. Then it declines to a local minimum which
coincides with the maximum strength of the Palmer emission. Possible q
ualitative interpretation of these facts is briefly outlined
