Abstract
During the past decade, marked improvement has been made in the field of pancreas transplantation. The best results have been obtained in pa tients receiving a simultaneous pancreas-kidney transplant using the b ladder drainage technique. An overall improvement in the secondary com plications of diabetes has been documented in patients receiving succe ssful pancreatic grafts. Pancreatic islet cell transplantation remains largely experimental at this time.
