Abstract
Lithium ions in electrochemically doped poly(p-phenylene) (PPP) were s tudied by Li-7 NMR. Two types of lithium cations exhibiting different mobility are found to exist. The fraction of more mobile cations incre ases with temperature but does not exceed 0.5. In the PPP--Li+ system, ion mobility is considerably lower than that found in the previously studied PPP+-AsF6- (BF4-) system, and up to 400 K no chemical reaction s of polymer destruction occur.
