The effect of the sphericity of a unit acoustic wave on its reflection
from a plane boundary of an underwater liquid bottom was investigated
. An exact solution is presented as simple real integrals over a finit
e path, which is convenient for calculations. Results of reflection co
efficient calculations as a function of the angle of incidence are giv
en as plots demonstrating reflection coefficient dependence on distanc
e between a source and the point of reflection. The exact solution obt
ained can be used to calculate a reflected wave at an arbitrary point
in water for any form and duration of an incident wave. A simple analy
tical expression is given for a reflection coefficient at normal incid
ence along with its asymptotics for extended times and any angle of in
cidence.
