Free vibrations of non-symmetrically laminated cross-ply composite bea
ms based on Timoshenko type equations are studied. The effect of coupl
ed longitudinal and transversal displacements, shear deformation and r
otary inertia are included in the analysis. Natural frequencies and vi
brational modes of laminated beams with different boundary conditions
are obtained. Numerical results are presented in order to demonstrate
the importance of the coupling effects, shear deformations and rotary
inertia in the dynamic analysis of composite beams.
