The polarization properties of four-wave interaction on polymer films
with bacteriorhodopsin that possess anisotropically saturating nonline
arity are studied both theoretically and experimentally. The amplitude
and the polarization of the diffracted wave for recording material wi
th anisotropically saturating nonlinearity are calculated. Low saturat
ion intensity allows the operation of the polarization of low-intensit
y signals to be realized. It is shown that control of the diffractive
wave polarization is possible only with the variation of the light rec
ording intensity.
