M. Cloupeau et B. Prunetfoch, ELECTROHYDRODYNAMIC SPRAYING FUNCTIONING MODES - A CRITICAL-REVIEW, Journal of aerosol science, 25(6), 1994, pp. 1021-1036
The multiplicity of electrohydrodynamic spraying functioning modes has
been and still continues to be, a cause of misunderstanding. The mode
s observed in air (and observable also in vacuum) are reviewed and sev
eral results are compared with those of earlier work. For regimes othe
r than dripping, a terminology is proposed, the main modes being desig
nated: cone-jet, multijet, microdripping, simple jet, ramified jet (in
cluding fan configuration) and spindle (including harmonic spraying).
