Abstract
Heavy metal pollution in 3 rivers of Andhra Pradesh, viz. Moosi, Godav ari and Tungabhadra has been investigated, taking into consideration s ome important metals and algal flora present in these environments. In general the metal concentrations were higher in the river, Tungabhadr a except iron which was more in the river (R) Godavari. In the algal s pectrum certain species of diatoms, green algae and blue-greens and eu glenoid-flagellates serve as bioindicators. Pollution tolerant species have also been discussed.
