Abstract
A computational method for design sensitivity analysis of a nonlinear mode spectrum for forced vibrations of beams is presented. The large d eflection leads to geometric nonlinearity. Longitudinal displacement a nd inertia are considered in the nonlinear vibration formulation. A nu merical example is given to illustrate the validity of the proposed me thod.
