Abstract
Monarticular flares occurring in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (R A) usually signify either a worsening of the underlying condition or a superimposed septic process. This report describes 2 patients with RA who had stress fractures of the fibular head, masquerading as monarti cular flares of ankle arthritis.
