Abstract
An ultrasound scan is recommended for the investigation of post-cholec ystectomy symptoms. In two patients ultrasound scan reported a persist ent gall-bladder following laparoscopic cholecystectomy. ERCP identifi ed a choledochal cyst in one and no abnormality in the other. Failure to detect choledochal cysts is equally likely following laparoscopic a nd open surgery, and ERCP should be considered the investigation of ch oice for recurrent symptoms following cholecystectomy.
