Reconstruction of the velocity distribution in an oceanic current from
tomographic experimental data is considered. One approach is based on
separating the velocity-related effects from the linearized acoustic
equations of hydrodynamics and considering these effects as perturbati
ons affecting the probing sound held. The other approach is based on t
he Obukhov quasipotential equation. A procedure is proposed for the re
construction of the vector of a two-dimensional current from the proje
ctions of its Fourier transform with the use of the Rytov approximatio
n. The mode representation of acoustic fields in a moving medium is co
nsidered.
