Recent research has proven bioremediation to be very efficient for the
cleanup of contaminated soils. Although bioremediation is effective,
the kinetics associated with the process are still vague. This is larg
ely due to the minute differences encountered with each different micr
obial species implemented for each waste contaminant classification. T
he primary objective of this research was to determine the specific de
gradation rates for the bioremediation of soils contaminated with poly
cyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. Specifically, the kinetics associated wi
th two different bacteria in conjunction with three supplemental nutri
ent solutions were investigated.
