Abstract
The influence of a sea current on the angular intensity distribution o f the sound field generated by a point cw sound source is studied. A m ethod is proposed to reconstruct the vertical current velocity profile in a shallow sea, which is based on measuring the standard deviations of amplitude fluctuations of sound signals propagating along a quasi- stationary path.
