SEQUENCE OF E1B REGION AND ADJACENT 3'-TERMINAL PART OF E1A REGION OFSA7(C8) SIMIAN ADENOVIRUS

The structure of E1A and E1B transforming regions (1-3194) of the SA7( C8) simian adenovirus was studied. The sequence 1478-3193 including th e 3'-terminal part of E1A and the major part of the E1B coding region was determined for the first time. Comparison with the structure of SA 7(P) DNA, previously determined in the region 1-2338, revealed many di stinctions: nucleotide substitutions, microdeletions and microinsertio ns. Among point substitutions, the most frequent was the C T transitio n in CG pairs known as mutations hot spots. Differences of the sequenc e of SA7(CS) oncogene E1A region from the previously published one wer e also revealed.
