Abstract
This paper summarizes the most important biochemical properties of sev eral biochemical markers of myocardial injury and discusses the practi cal applications of these markers for the diagnosis of acute myocardia l infarction, for the noninvasive detection of coronary artery recanal ization after treatment with thrombolytic agents, and for the early id entification of cardiovascular events in unstable angina.
