Abstract
For the first time intra- and interspecific electric field-induced fus ion of the extremely salt tolerant unicellular green algae Dunaliella parva and Dunaliella bardawil, the extremely acid resistant Dunaliella acidophila (optimal growth and photosynthesis of pH 1.0) and of yeast protoplasts to Dunaliella species is described. The scientific potent ial of such fusion products is discussed.
