Abstract
122 human uterine leiomyomas, representing the main chromosomal aberra tions seen in these tumours, were analyzed by Southern blotting. Probe s for the four oncogenes, gli, fos, jun, and met, all localized in or close to the chromosomal breakpoints in leiomyomas, were used. In only one single leiomyoma, with a 7p+q- marker, was there evidence of rear rangement of one of the oncogenes, namely met.
